Ventana del Pacífico donates books to Tortuga School for the 2023 school year

Continuing a decade-long tradition, at the beginning of the school year Ventana del Pacífico Developers (VDP) provided 629 books to the Tortuga School, in Ojochal of Osa.

All students in this public school are now ready for the 2023 school year, with books supporting their studies in science, mathematics, social studies, Spanish, and English.

The Director of the Tortuga School, Eduardo Flores, and a group of 6th grade students received the books from Jean Marc Levesque, General Manager VDP; José Alfaro, Manager of Edificaciones Ojochal, and María Soto, Architect of the company.

Tortuga School has an enrollment of 134 students in the 6 elementary grades.

Books for the future

“We are very happy to continue this annual collaboration with public education in our community of Costa Rica´s South Pacific, where the company has been operating for 30 years”, said Jean Marc Levesque, General Manager of VDP.

“This books are an essential tool for learning and brighten the future of all of you,” José Alfaro, Manager of Edificaciones Ojochal, a subsidiary of VDP, told the students.

Alfaro urged them to become great professionals – the future engineers, architects, administrators, lawyers, and communicators, among other occupations, working for this company.

María Soto, Architect of the company, explained the important role architecture plays in creating livable spaces in the humid tropical climate of this community, and challenged them to become the community builders of the future.

Flores thanked the representatives from VDP and assured everyone that the books will be well used.
