The report is based on surveys of people in more than 140 countries, which evaluate their level of happiness based on their average life span over the previous three years.

The natural beauties, the friendliness of its people, the good standard of living, peace, freedom and generosity are part of the factors most valued by the inhabitants of Costa Rica, to place it as the   happiest country on the continent.

“We are very fortunate to live in this country and to be able to give many people the possibility of also enjoying Costa Rica through the beautiful properties we offer in the South Pacific, one of the most pristine, biodiverse and exuberant areas of the country,” said Jean Marc Levesque, General Manager of Ventana del Pacífico Developers, VDP.

The World Happiness Report is a collaboration between Gallup, the Oxford Wellbeing Research Centre, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and an editorial board.
